As we reflect on 2021 and look toward the year ahead, the entire team at Ligris + Associates wants to express our gratitude to our community of clients, partners and colleagues for another amazing year.

Throughout the pandemic, Ligris has remained at the forefront of innovation. Internally, the firm ensured the safety of our attorneys and staff with continuous COVID testing for all and flexible work from home options. We have also been instrumental in advancing remote online notarizations in Massachusetts and beyond to streamline the closing process for home and property buyers and sellers during this prolonged remote work environment. We also instituted new e-lawyering practices and procedures that have helped us maintain our market leader status. Lastly, we broke new ground in the legal industry by successfully completing a System and Organization Controls (SOC) 2™ Type II report. Ligris has among the most robust compliance standards of any real estate law firm in the country.

Last year Ligris grew to 28 after welcoming Katie Donovan, who expanded the residential real estate team in August. Over the course of 2021, Ligris Companies oversaw more than $7 billion dollars in real estate transactions helping thousands of families and businesses buy and sell real estate. In addition, Ligris Tax Services, which helps clients with their tax preparation needs, grew by an impressive 35% from the past year.

We are proud of the firm’s accomplishments and honored to have many Ligris attorneys’ work recognized through industry awards. Four of the firm’s attorneys were selected for inclusion in the 2021 Massachusetts Super Lawyers guide in the Real Estate Law category. Kosta Ligris was named to the Super Lawyers List, while the Rising Star list honored the work of David J. Forrest, Jr., Nik Ligris, and Stephanie Asimakopoulos who was also named to the Super Lawyers Women’s Edition. Only up to 5% of the state’s total lawyer pool is selected for Super Lawyers, and no more than 2.5% are named to the Rising Stars list. Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly also recognized the exceptional work of Attorney Greg Racki giving him the award for Go to Trust and Estates.

And as a firm, we were honored to receive Banker and Tradesman’s “Best of 2021” for Commercial Real Estate Law. Ligris is grateful to the entire real estate community for honoring the firm and our attorneys with these distinctions in 2021.

We are passionate about the work we provide clients, but we are equally passionate about other ways we can positively impact our neighbors in Massachusetts. This holiday season we were proud to have continued our sponsorship of the Pie in the Sky fundraiser and spent time volunteering for the Community Servings meal programs.
