Judge Field’s practice focuses on mediation, conciliation, and arbitration of family law matters. She is also available for case consultations.

Outside the Office

After many years of attending children’s sports and musical events, Judge Field now spends leisure time enjoying her friends, walking/hiking with her dog, swimming, and knitting.

Background

Background

Judge Field was appointed to the bench in 2010 as an Associate Justice of the Probate and Family Court. She sat primarily in Middlesex and Bristol Counties. In 2016, she was appointed and served as First Justice of the Bristol Division of the Probate and Family Court until her retirement from the bench in 2025. Prior to taking the bench, Judge Field practiced for twenty-five years with the law firm of Gay, Gay & Field, P.C.

Judge Field has served as a member of the Judicial Nomination Commission from 2003-2005, the Commission on Judicial Conduct- Member (2016-2023) and Chair (2023-2025), SJC Judicial Performance Evaluation Committee, and as a J2J Mentor- Judicial Peer Mentor, (2013-2025). She has been a frequent lecturer at educational programs for attorneys at the Massachusetts Bar Association, MCLE, and for judges at the Flaschner Institute and was a member of the Education Committee of the Probate and Family Court (2012-2023).
